Our Charities

Here at Beaufort Polo Club we would like to pay recognition to those charities who prioritize our local community’s health and well-being. Great Western Air Ambulance Charity are only ever a phone call away in helping our team, members, and the public. More locally, Tetbury Hospital have provided health care services for the local community for many years. Therefore, we aim to show our support as a way of saying thank you for their hard work and dedication.

Beaufort Polo Club’s Official Charity

Great Western Air Ambulance Charity

Great Western Air Ambulance Charity (GWAAC) provides the air ambulance and critical care service for the residents of Gloucestershire, South Gloucestershire, Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset, North Somerset, and parts of Wiltshire. GWAAC’s team of specialist doctors and paramedics attend the most critically ill and injured patients in the South West, saving lives in your local community.

By getting to the patient quickly, bringing the skills, equipment, and medics from the Emergency Department to the scene, our specialist teams are able to perform life-saving surgery on scene. From road traffic collisions to amputations, pre-hospital emergency anaesthetics to emergency caesareans, members of our clinical team are trained to the highest levels in pre-hospital emergency medicine.

1/3 of the incidents that GWAAC’s Critical Care Team responds to is a patient in cardiac arrest. For these patients, time really is of the essence; by bringing the hospital directly to the patient, GWAAC gives the most seriously ill the best possible chance of survival. In 2020, GWAAC’s Critical Care Team responded to 1,726 incidents, 460 of which were in Gloucestershire.

We support GWAAC by completing donation collection all year round and helping raise awareness of the amazing work they complete. Therefore, we have collection points around the Club, to include in the clubhouse, and our offices, however, if you would like to make a larger donation, please contact our office team or click here. Every penny counts!

If you would like to support your local air ambulance’s appeal, head to http://www.gwaac.com/recoveryfund to find out more or make a donation.

Charity Partnership

Tetbury Hospital

We have partnered up with Tetbury Hospital as one of our main charities to show our support for all the hard work they provide to our local community. In the late 1980s Tetbury Hospital was threatened with closure. As a result, the people of the town decided to raise over a million pounds to ‘buy’ it which led to the Tetbury Hospital Trust Ltd being set up as a charity. Furthermore, the hospital does not receive any extra funding from the NHS to provide essential new and replacement medical equipment and facilities and is reliant upon fundraising to do so. The Friends of Tetbury Hospital was established at the same time as the change in ownership to provide a platform for fundraising. Tetbury Hospital, like many others took a hit due to the pandemic and with the lack of fundraising are still recovering.

As a result of this Beaufort, as a tribute to the hospital, created a Social Campaign in and effort to raise not only awareness of Tetbury Hospital but to also raise funds.

In 2021, for every new Social Member that joined the Club, Beaufort donated half of their membership fee to Tetbury Hospital, raising a total of £1,407.50 over the 2021 Season.

The campaign then carries on into the 2022 Season whereby any new Social member that joined in the 2021 Season and returned for the 2022 Season, Beaufort would yet again donate half of their Social Membership.

Now more than ever we need to support those who have supported us without a second thought during the pandemic. We hope you will join us in our efforts to give back to Tetbury Hospital and generate the much-needed funds for the charity.

If you are already a Social Member or would like to show your support to Tetbury Hospital, there are other ways in which you can donate!
