The Kernow Cup 2017

To follow up their last tournament win of the La Ema Polo Mallet team Tayto took the Kernow Cup for 2017! With our first match on our delightful No. 1 ground, it was an extremely close final between Tayto and Vampire Bats that provided entertainment from spectacular plays, unexpected goals and even the odd tumble! It was a strong game from the Vampire Bats who gained the lead in the 4th Chukka only to have Tayto fire back hard to beat them in the final 10 seconds by gaining just a single goal lead. This was a great match from our players and we are sure all the spectators both regulars and our wonderful guests from Mercer Jelf enjoyed it thoroughly.

The final was swiftly followed by our subsidiary final between La Quinta and Porthills. Despite an earlier win from La Quinta over Porthills earlier in the tournament it would appear Porthills were determined not to let this happen a second time so battled hard over the win and managed to gain a 2-goal lead to end on a 4 to 2 score to Porthills.

As usual a great wealth of thanks must be sent to our scoreboard dream team AND tournament sponsors Ali and Phil Foster. Without them the tournament could not be held nor would our matches be so fantastically well timed, scored and run so smoothly. From the team at Beaufort and the players it was our pleasure to play host to your tournament and have you back with us to help.
