The Beaufort Ladies Tournament 2017

The Beaufort Ladies Tournament 2017 Summary

The Beaufort Ladies Tournament was sponsored this year by the Barbados Tourism Board who provided spectacular prizes to include rum and merchandise which put smiles on both winners and second place team members. We were delighted to welcome the Barbados team along with our other spectators to the very competitive ladies final game.

Both finalist teams won their previous matches to make it to the final unscathed; equally confident and determined to take the win. It was a close match with Apes Hill/Huntington House taking the first goal of the match. Monterosso Polo Team matched this is the second chukka and proceeded to take the lead. Straight back into the third chukka and Apes Hill eager to push back levelled the scores once again, following up with a further two goals, finishing the chukka on a 4-3 lead. The fourth and final chukka saw the two teams push each other to the limit with some strong offensive moves being met by strong defences at a level score. In the last minute Apes Hill managed to take a fifth goal and Monterosso were not quite able to level again in the time left before the finalising hooter.

We welcomed a friendly crowd of spectators in for a celebratory drinks and Caribbean inspired food over to the Beaufort Clubhouse where prize giving was held and presented by Kyle Gittens from the Barbados Tourism Board. The Apes Hill ladies shared a bottle of champagne with a cheer as our resident photography wizard, Gordon Ell, captured all the post-match fun! The celebrations then continued into the evening with a tropical themed Clubhouse party enticing a jolly crowd over for a cocktail and dance!

Thank you to all you attended, played, and supported it is a pleasure to see familiar and new faces each weekend and we hope to see you all again for our remaining tournaments! There are still plenty of matches upcoming and of course the glamorous Beaufort Ball on the 26th August which promises to be an overwhelmingly spectacular event; get booking now as we can’t wait to share the evening with you all!
